I'm a professional artist originally from Scotland and now living in North Hampshire, UK. I create mixed media work inspired in some way by people and their roots, stories and experiences. I love pops of colour, layers, grids, intricate details and natural surfaces. I also have a developing interest in infographics and data visualisation.

Abstract

This collection brings together different marks, shapes and patterns that have always intrigued me and I have looked at how (if?) I can make these work together -–plaid, florals and grids. Intrigued?

I have followed on the path through which Celtic art developed - different ideas and styles were shared between different regions, and people took new motifs, forms and designs and elaborated on them to create something unique

Gillian is best known for her vibrant, colourful paintings that are created with multiple layers, resulting in mesmerising pieces of artwork with beautiful detail and depth. She aims to create art that is uplifting and inspiring to look at, and which explores what is important to people and why. Her paintings are a narrative about people, provoking intrigue and alluding to the energy and magic that lie beneath the surface. Gillian has exhibited with THAT Gallery, an artist collective in Basingstoke, Hampshire, since 2016 and has sold over 30 original paintings and undertaken many commissions.
