Creating this collection
To create these pieces, Gillian created a textured base by scraping acrylic gesso and paint onto the canvas or wood and subsequently pressing different materials, such as stencils and fabric, into the wet underpainting. Once dry, Gillian brought out the forms created by the paint using collage, acrylic paint, Posca pens and ink.
