Creating this collection

To create these pieces, Gillian created a textured base by scraping acrylic gesso and paint onto the canvas or wood and subsequently pressing different materials, such as stencils and fabric, into the wet underpainting.

​

Once dry, Gillian brought out the forms created by the paint using collage, acrylic paint, Posca pens and ink.
