Who You Are
This is a print of a mixed-media abstract piece featuring the vibrant colour palette and grid-like structure typical of Gillian’s work. To further explore the use of line in this piece, Gillian incorporated some monotone tartan patterns using both acrylic transfer and collage techniques and also used varying thicknesses of line to heighten contrasts and create more interest. Interestingly, Gillian started this piece in the same way that she often starts her work - with the image of a figure - but it gradually evolved into something completely different.
