About this painting
This vibrant mixed-media abstract piece provides an uplifting pop of colour. To create this piece, Gillian created a textured base by scraping acrylic gesso and paint onto the canvas and subsequently pressing different materials, such as stencils and fabric, into the wet underpainting. Once dry, Gillian brought out the forms created by the paint using collage, acrylic paint, Posca pens and ink. This piece is created on a square box canvas 30cm x 30cm in size and 2.5cm deep, which is clean on the sides, signed by Gillian in the bottom right-hand corner, and ready to hang.
